Getting Started Using Go! Motion and Logger Pro

The Vernier Go! Motion is a Motion Detector that connects directly to the USB port of your computer. No interface is needed.

Follow this procedure to quickly collect data with the Go! Motion and Logger Pro software:

  1. Connect the Go! Motion to a USB port on your computer running Logger Pro.
  2. A Found New Hardware message may appear. Allow a few moments for this process to complete before proceeding.
  3. You will see that Logger Pro has identified the probe and is now ready to collect data. Note: You can easily change the units of measurement for the Go! Motion by choosing Change Units from the Experiment menu.
  4. Click Collect button graphic. The data will be displayed in the data table and the graph.
  5. Once you have collected data, you can analyze it and perform many other tasks. Take a look at the How To section for a list of the various options available in Logger Pro.

Note: A tutorial covering Go! Motion is available. Choose Open from the File menu, then look in the Tutorials folder to access it.

Changing Go! Motion Options

Using the Go! Motion dialog you can zero the Go! Motion, change the data-collection units, and more.

View the Go! Motion dialog by clicking the Go! Motion icon GoMotion button graphic in the toolbar. A dialog showing the sensor setup, the units, and current readings (if Live Readouts in the Column Options dialog is checked) will be displayed.
