Sensor Information

The Sensor Information dialog contains information about the sensor in use, including the channel it is connected to. This dialog can be called up by selecting Calibrate from the Experiment menu and clicking the Sensor Info tab. If auto-ID is supported, then Logger Pro automatically detects the sensor and sets up its default calibration. If the sensor is not auto-ID, then you manually have to set it up. The fastest way do this is by opening an experiment file.

Current Calibration

Use the Current Calibration drop-down menu to select another available sensor calibration. For example, if you are using a temperature probe, you can choose to have your data collected in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. Additional calibration options are available in the Calibrate tab.

Typical Sample Rate

The typical sample rate is the rate that is usually appropriate for data collection with that sensor. It is the rate that will be automatically loaded when an auto-ID sensor is connected.

Maximum Rate

The maximum rate is the highest usable rate under typical data collection conditions. It is sometimes possible to collect data from analog sensors at higher rates than the maximum suggested, but there is no benefit form collecting data at a high rate. For example, you can take data at 1000 samples/second with a temperature probe, but the inherent slow response of such a sensor is not improved by the higher data rate.
