Entering and Editing Data
In addition to actual data collection, there are a number of ways
to input data into Logger Pro. For example, you can type data
into the data table; open data files created by other Vernier Software
programs; cut, copy, paste, or import text or data from a TI graphing
calculator, or Vernier interfaces. For more detail,
see the options below.
- You can type data directly into the data
table. To type data into a cell, click on the cell and type a
value. You can use either the mouse or arrow keys to navigate between
and within the table cells. Press the Enter/Return key after typing
the value to move to the cell below or to the right as specified
in Preferences. The Tab key
navigates between
columns. See Selecting and
Editing Cells for more information.
- You can also import data from
older versions of Logger Pro.
- Text or text files (such as those
created in Microsoft Excel, word processors, etc.) can be imported
into Logger Pro.
- You can import data from TI
graphing calculators, LabPro, or CBL 2 devices using the TI-Graph
Link cable. Do so by choosing Import From... TI Device from
the File menu or clicking the Import button
.
- Data collected and stored in the LabPro interface can
be imported using the serial (Windows
only) or USB cable. Do so by choosing Import From... LabPro from
the File Menu.
- Data collected with LabQuest can be retrieved using a USB
cable. If you have data saved in a file on LabQuest, use
the LabQuest Browser to open
the file. If you have data in LabQuest that has not been saved,
Logger Pro will offer
to retrieve the data.
- Data copied onto the clipboard can be pasted into
a data table.
