Sync To Graph Time

Logger Pro can import videos of your experiment. You can then synchronize the video to your data, so when the experiment is replayed, the data and video will be viewed together. To perform a synchronization, you must be able to identify a time on the graph that corresponds to a particular frame in the video.

A tutorial covering movies is available. Choose Open from the File menu, then look in the Experiments folder to access it.

When you are ready to match your data to activity of your movie, click from the bottom of the movie. More detailed instructions for syncing movies to your data are available here.

Movie Synchronization Dialog

Use the Movie Synchronization dialog to sync a data point on the graph with a particular moment in time in the movie.

Data Set

You can select which Data Set you want synchronized to the video.

Synchronize Video Analysis Data Set with Selected Data Set

If Synchronize Video Analysis Data Set with Selected Data Set is checked, the times generated by the video analysis tool will be from the selected data set instead of the raw times in the movie.

For example, you might have a movie that starts 0.75833s (as shown above) before your sensor data. Sync the movie to the sensor data using some event in the video. Now when you do video analysis for the movie, the time entered for a point on the first frame will be -0.75833s if the box above is checked, since that corresponds to the graph time. If the box is not checked, a time of zero will be entered for the first frame.

Set Graph Time and Movie Time

The Graph Time is the time you have selected from your graph that best corresponds to the chosen frame in the movie. Click the graph to enter the Graph Time or enter the time directly. Use the slider on the Movie window to find the frame that matches the Graph Time or enter the time of the movie directly.

Synchronizing Your Movie with Existing Data

Check Use This Synchronization In Video Capture to apply the synchronized offset to subsequent captured videos.
