Getting Started with LabPro and Logger Pro

The Vernier LabPro is an extremely powerful and versatile data-collection interface that can collect data from multiple analog and digital sensors. Use the procedure below to quickly begin collecting live data with LabPro.

  1. Connect a LabPro interface to a computer running Logger Pro using the supplied cable. You can use the USB port on a PC or Macintosh or any of the COM 1, 2, 3 or 4 serial ports on a PC.
  2. Power the LabPro with either the AC power adapter or fresh batteries.
  3. Connect a sensor to the interface. If you are using an auto-ID sensor (such as a Stainless Steel Temperature Probe or a Motion Detector) no further action is required prior to data collection. Logger Pro will have identified your sensor and loaded a default data collection mode. If your sensor does not auto-ID, choose an experiment file from the appropriate sensor folder or open the Sensor Setup dialog to manually configure Logger Pro for you sensor.
  4. Click . Logger Pro will begin plotting data in the graph.

Note: Choose Open from the File menu to access tutorials that cover additional aspects of data collection and analysis.
