Analog Out on LabPro

The Analog Out feature allows you to command Channel 4 of LabPro to output an analog signal in a number of different patterns. Use the Analog Out feature directly for low current applications or with a Power Amplifier for higher current applications. It can be used to study harmonic oscillation in strings and LRC circuit response, in addition to other applications.

To access the Analog Out feature, click the LabPro icon in the tool bar or choose Set Up Sensors > LabPro from the Experiment menu. Then, in the LabPro sensor dialog, click Channel 4 and select Analog Out. Note: If you are using a Power Amplifier, connect the Amplifier to CH 4 of LabPro using the special analog cable supplied with the Power Amplifier.

Analog Out Options

In the Analog Out dialog, the following options are available to control the analog signal that created by LabPro:

Waveform

From the Waveform drop-down menu, choose one of the following waveform types: DC, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, Triangle, Square, or Sine. A symbol representing the waveform will be displayed below Channel 4 of the LabPro dialog. Note: The waveform will continue until you choose Off from the Waveform drop-down menu.

Frequency

Enter a Frequency value between 0.5 Hz and 166 Hz.

Amplitude

Enter the Amplitude of your selected waveform. Type a number between 0 Volts and 4 Volts. The Power Amplifier applies a gain of two to the value that you enter.

Create User Parameters

User parameters are names for variables that you can control. Click Create User Parameters to add a Parameter Control to your page. Parameter controls can then be used directly on the Logger Pro page to make changes to the analog output without opening the LabPro sensor dialog.
