Using Power Amplifier with LabQuest

The Power Amplifier (PAMP) allows you to drive loads with +/-10 V and currents up to 1 A. Use it to amplify an existing signal to drive a speaker, a motor, or many other devices.

To set up the Power Amplifier, connect PAMP to LabQuest and then open the LabQuest sensor dialog by clicking the LabQuest icon in the toolbar or choosing Set Up Sensors > LabQuest from the Experiment menu.

You can leave the Power Amplifier dialog open during data collection. For example, you might start data collection, and then adjust frequency or amplitude while data are being collected.

Waveform

From the Waveform drop-down menu, select one of the following waveform types: DC, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, Triangle, Square, or Sine. Click Start to turn on the waveform. Note: The waveform will continue until you click Stop.

Frequency

LabQuest can produce frequencies between 0.25 Hz and 10,000 Hz. Adjust the frequency as needed for your experiment.

Amplitude

Enter the Amplitude of your selected waveform. You can enter a value between 0 Volts and 10 Volts.
