Parameter Control

Parameters are variables that you can control. Note: Created parameters only apply to individual files. They will be saved when your file is saved.

Creating a Parameter Control

  1. Choose User Parameters from the Data menu.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Give the new parameter a Name, Value, and Units.
  4. Set the number of Places to be displayed on the screen and the Increment. The Increment is the amount by which you can increase or decrease the parameter value after it is displayed. For example, if the Parameter Value is 2.5 and the Increment is 0.1, you will be able to increase the value to 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, etc or decrease the value to 2.4, 2.3, 2.1, etc.
  5. Uncheck Editable if you do not want the value to be changed once it is set.
  6. Select OK.
  7. To add the parameter control to the page, choose Parameter Control from the Insert menu.
  8. Double-click the Parameter Control box or choose Parameter Control Options from the Options menu.
