Getting Started with Go Wireless Devices

Go Wireless devices allow you to wirelessly collect data from a variety of sensors. Examples of Go Wireless devices include Go Wireless Link, Go Wireless Temp, and Go Wireless pH. Note: If you are using a Wireless Dynamic Sensor System (WDSS), see Collecting data with WDSS.

Connecting your Go Wireless Device to a Computer

To connect the Go Wireless device to Logger Pro, follow the procedure below:

  1. On your computer, verify that the Bluetooth radio is turned on.
  2. Turn on the Go Wireless device (the red LED will flash).
  3. In Logger Pro, choose Connect Interface > Go Wireless... from the Experiment menu. A list of all Bluetooth devices that are available for connection and within range of your computer will be displayed.
  4. Select the Go Wireless device to which you want to connect and click Connect. After the connection is made, the green LED on the device will flash and live readouts from the device will appear in the Logger Pro toolbar. You can start collecting data or set up the data collection parameters in the Data Collection dialog.

If your Go Wireless device does not connect, make sure it has battery power and that it is within a few meters of the computer's Bluetooth radio.

Windows users: If Logger Pro fails to connect to the device, a Connection Failed dialog box will display. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Launch Windows Bluetooth Settings to begin pairing with a device.
  2. Select the device and click Pair. Enter 0 if prompted for a passcode. Then follow the directions.
    Note: If you have renamed the device, you will need to first unpair the old name. To do this, select the old name and click Remove device. Then, repeat Step 2.
  3. Once the device is paired with your computer, close the Windows Bluetooth Settings dialog.
  4. Turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds (the LED will turn off).
  5. Turn the device back on by briefly pressing the power button (the Red LED will flash).
  6. In Logger Pro, click Close message. Then choose Connect Interface > Go Wireless... from the Experiment menu.
  7. Select the Go Wireless device to which you want to connect and click Connect. After the connection is made, the green LED on the device will flash and live readouts from the device will appear in the Logger Pro toolbar. You can start collecting data or set up the data collection parameters in the Data Collection dialog.
