This version shows the historical arrival and spread of native Hawaiian birds across the island chain,
ending with adaptation and survival on the Big Island. It is based on the idea that many Hawaiian native birds
were descended from a small number of colonizing ancestors rather than making regular seasonal migrations between islands.
