Connecting to a server

Terminal lets you browse for a server connection using several different protocols, including ssh, sftp, ftp, telnet, or a protocol you define. You can store your favorite network services for easy access.

  1. Choose File > Connect to Server.
  2. Select a protocol from the Service list.
  3. Select a shared server from the Server list.
  4. Click Connect.

If you know the address of your location, you can enter it directly in the address field on the bottom of the dialog. If you have connected to a server recently, you can choose it from the pop-up menu to the right of address field.
