Data Sharing

The Data Sharing feature of Logger Pro makes it possible for you to broadcast data collected in Logger Pro to other devices connected to the same network, including iPad®, devices running Android™ OS, and computers running compatible web browsers. Students can then perform their own analysis and create individual lab reports. Below you will find specific information about how to set up Logger Pro for Data Sharing. If you need information about connecting to devices or support for networking issues, see Connected Science System® support.

System Requirements for Data Sharing

Data Sharing

When Enable data sharing is selected, your computer will be configured to broadcast data to any connected device.

Remote Control

Select Allow remote control of data collection to be able to start and stop data collection with a connected device. Turn off Remote Control if you do not want others to be able to control data collection on your device.

Dynamic Port Number

If Use dynamic port number is selected, the network will assign a random port number to your computer. In some networks, you may be required to use a specific port number. If this is the case for your network, turn off this option. You can enter the port number that has been assigned to you in the Data Services dialog (choose Data Sharing from the File menu).
